Explanation 説明

Connects nouns in formal documents, rules, and notices rather than casual conversation.

Examples 例文

    I checked the dates of the meeting and the information session.

  2. 試験しけんおよび説明会せつめいかいの日程にっていを確認かくにんした。

    I checked the dates of the exam and the information session.

How related patterns differ 比較

上に, に加えて, and のみならず add information. はもとより treats the first as obvious; もさることながら draws greater attention to the second. にもまして exceeds a comparison standard. および mainly joins nouns in formal text.
